In this creative writing workshop the participants will learn about various tools to try out creative writing and develop their individual writing style in different genres. In addition to teaching the basics of writing the goal is to explore their perspective and strengthen them, without any grammatical or stylistical restrains. The first part of this workshop is about getting into writing and finding words for the reality of your own life, but also observations outside of your own everyday life through research. In the second part we deal with scenic writing with focus on genre and character development. In addition to the creative process, the course offers participants a safe space to exchange ideas with like-minded creative people and build networks.

This workshop is lead by Sedi Ghadiri, an auteur-director with extensive experience in fictional writing for screenplays. As a first-generation diaspora person with close artistic ties in the Arab world and with a multifaceted career from studying Middle Eastern Studies to Film and Screenwriting, Sedi has always broken social barriers and worked outside the norms. It is her heartfelt aim to promote space for diverse storytelling and to strengthen the participants artistic perspectives.
