For students who have a good command of English but wish to further develop their language skills as well as their performance skills.
In this engaging theoretical and practical course we will examine the aesthetics and politics of contemporary performance, exploring German theatre scholar Hans-Thies Lehmann's category of 'Postdramatic Theatre' to enhance our understanding of theatrical form.
Postdramatic Theatre' focuses on creating an effect on the audience rather than the presentation of the text. It focuses on giving the audience a theatrical performance and is not limited by character and plot.
During this 5-week course we will study 4 Postdramatic Theatre practitioners and put their theories and ideas into practice. At the end of the course each student will present a short performance/presentation about a practitioner explored during the course.
No previous experience of theatre and performance is expected, we will spend the first hour of the workshop exploring the theatre practitioner of the week, then spend the second hour practising drama games and exercises and incorporating practical exercises inspired by the theatre practitioner. It will be a fun, relaxed and informative way to learn about Postdramatic Theatre practices and drama exercises while improving your English!

In diesem theoretischen und praktischen Kurs werden wir die Ästhetik und Politik der zeitgenössischen Performance untersuchen und dabei die Kategorie des "postdramatischen Theaters" des deutschen Theaterwissenschaftlers Hans-Thies Lehmann erforschen, um unser Verständnis der theatralen Form zu verbessern.
„Postdramatisches Theater“ konzentriert sich auf die Wirkung auf das Publikum und nicht auf die Präsentation des Textes. Es konzentriert sich darauf, dem Publikum eine theatralische Aufführung zu bieten und ist nicht durch Charaktere und Handlung beschränkt.
Während dieses 5-wöchigen Kurses werden wir 4 Vertreter des postdramatischen Theaters studieren und ihre Theorien und Ideen in die Praxis umsetzen. Am Ende des Kurses können alle Teilnehmenden eine kurze Aufführung/Präsentation über einen der im Kurs untersuchten Praktiker präsentieren.
Wir werden die erste Stunde des Workshops damit verbringen, den Theaterpraktiker der Woche zu erforschen, und dann in der zweiten Stunde Theaterspiele und -übungen praktizieren und praktische Übungen einbauen, die von dem Theaterpraktiker inspiriert sind. Es wird eine unterhaltsame, entspannte und informative Art sein, etwas über postdramatische Theaterpraktiken und Schauspielübungen zu lernen und gleichzeitig Ihr Englisch zu verbessern!
