This intensive vocational training course is designed to prepare students for the translation exams offered by either the IHK (Geprüfte Übersetzer) or the Staatliches Prüfungsamt für Übersetzerinnen und Übersetzer. Both examinations require an extremely high level of language skills in both English and German. During the course, students will improve their knowledge of English and German usage, deepen their ability to analyse the sort of texts they might encounter in the exams, and develop techniques for passing both exams' written and oral elements. The course will therefore concentrate on past papers as well as general and specialist texts similar to those used in the exams. The students should realise from the start that the aforementioned exams require extensive preparation and thus a lot of time and energy. Participation in a second and third term should be considered as an option to enhance continued active learning. So please come prepared to think fast and work hard - and, of course, to enjoy it all!

Die Anmeldung zur "Staatlichen Prüfung für Übersetzer und Übersetzerinnen" beginnt in Berlin jedes Jahr im Oktober und im April.
