Inhalte

Combining theory and practice, the course is aimed at anyone who wants to produce their own YouTube videos and learn about video art.

We gather inspiration from video films, learning the difference between video and film production, experimenting with different recording techniques and dealing with video editing. The following questions will also be addressed: how has YouTube influenced video art? How do you reach YouTube viewers? How do you produce on a small budget?
Laptops will be provided and you are also welcome to bring your own smartphone or laptop. Recommended editing programs: Filmora or iMovie. PC alternatives are also possible.

The course is taught in English but questions can also be asked in German.
Heather Purcell studied at the Glasgow School of Art (BA) and at the Berlin University of the Arts (MA). She works as an artist and freelance art educator offering animation and video workshops. Her work focuses on the combination of analogue and digital media.
